In World History: Modern, students explore significant historical events, individuals, developments, and processes spanning from approximately 1200 CE to the present. Through analyzing historical sources, students learn to make connections and craft historical arguments. The course covers essential concepts such as humans and the environment, cultural developments and interactions, governance, economic systems, social interactions and organization, and technology and innovation. Students engage with texts, visual sources, and other historical evidence, honing their historical thinking skills and expressing historical arguments through essays.

 Students showcase their understanding through a variety of assessments, including tests, essays, independent projects, and group assignments. The course caters to diverse learning styles, offering multiple pathways to success. For students aiming to take the AP World History: Modern Exam, this course equips them with the essential historical thinking skills required for success. Additionally, students can access supplementary AP Exam practice materials and study guides for self-directed study. An Honors Option is also available for an additional fee.

Coursestorm Online Enrollment is Free. Course Fee: $520/$550 Honors. A $50 non-refundable course enrollment deposit will be billed immediately upon registration and applies toward your overall tuition.  The balance must be paid by July 1, or select a payment plan of $235 payable by July 1 and November 1/$250 for Honors payable July 1 and November 1.

Required Materials: Textbook: Voyages in World History, Volume II, 4th Edition by Valerie Hansen  (Author), Ken Curtis  (Author)  (Used or eTextbooks are acceptable. Check that the cover and version are identical)
