Is it the Gulf of Mexico or the Gulf of America? Borderlines and names on the map can change frequently in today’s fast-paced world. In Cultural Geography class, the student will explore the world through mapwork, current events, games, video clips, discussions, projects, quizzes, and presentations. Students with difficulty memorizing may find the visual images and the mnemonic devices presented in class just what they need to learn. In addition to map work, students in this overview course will learn about land features, social customs and traditions, cuisine, culture, religion, and government. This course will fulfill the one-hour credit for “other” social studies recommended for high school graduation.
