Applied Chemistry-Chemistry in the Kitchen - Honors Option Available

Get ready for a chemistry course like no other! This hands-on, engaging class takes the often abstract world of chemistry and brings it to life in a practical and fun way. Using exciting curriculum sources like Guest Hollow’s High School Kitchen, Culinary Reactions, and What Einstein Told His Cook, students will discover the fascinating chemistry behind everyday activities. Imagine your student exploring how chemical reactions affect the foods they eat, how the science of cooking can turn a simple recipe into a lesson in molecular gastronomy, and why those everyday “chemistry moments” are so much more than just basic science! This course not only strengthens understanding in a core scientific field but also connects these concepts to real-life experiences, showing how God’s creativity and intelligence are woven into the very fabric of creation. Whether your child is an aspiring scientist or just looking for a fun and meaningful way to learn, this course will spark their curiosity, inspire hands-on learning, and connect the dots between science and the world they live in. It’s chemistry with a twist—come join us, and let’s make learning an adventure!
